IKEA supports “Sports Free” through network and distribution

November 20, 2024 – Diversero would like to thank IKEA for supporting “Sports Free” by using their network and spreading the campaign. What once began as a small idea in Sweden is now a global company.

The then 17-year-old Ingvar Kamprad founded the company in 1943, which is now part of the Netherlands-based Stichting INGKA Foundation – one of the largest charitable organizations in the world with an estimated value of 36 billion US dollars.

“IKEA’s support shows that big brands can play a huge role in promoting diversity and inclusion,” explains Marcus Urban, co-founder of Diversero. “IKEA’s network gives us the opportunity to spread the message of ‘Sports Free’ even further and reach more people.”

The joint campaign with IKEA makes a significant contribution to supporting “Sports Free”. Through the company’s extensive network, the campaign will not only be more visible, but also enriched by the values that IKEA stands for – equality, diversity and social commitment.

“Sports Free” is committed to the rights and visibility of queer athletes and IKEA proves with this support that social commitment is part of a global responsibility.
