Borussia Dortmund’s generosity gives “Sports Free” new momentum

November 15, 2023 – In a spontaneous gesture of solidarity, Borussia Dortmund has supported the “Sports Free” campaign with a donation of EUR 25,000. This generosity not only provides the project with important resources, but also with the necessary time and motivation to carefully continue and prepare the planned activities.

“A big thank you to BVB! Your support strengthens our mission enormously,” says Marcus Urban from Diversero. Borussia Dortmund’s contribution is a powerful commitment to diversity and inclusion in sport and once again shows how great the commitment to social change can be in top-level soccer.

Thanks to Borussia Dortmund’s initiative, “Sports Free” can now increase its efforts to raise awareness of the concerns and wishes of queer athletes and continue the production of a film series about the personal experiences of queer athletes and their environment.
